William, a seasoned banker and banking veteran with 36 years of work experience in both Corporate & Financial Institutions banking sector, who had become an entrepreneur in trade finance consulting business since his retirement from COMMERZBANK AG 10 years ago. With extensive knowledge of trade finance products as well as expertise in operations & marketing, his reputation prevails in handling complex structured trade finance and mitigate trade disputes.

As one of the few top elites recruited by multinational banks in 1985, William worked with several reputable international banks in his early career, including OCBC, Credit Suisse, ABN AMRO and COMMERZBANK AG. He introduced forfaiting and purchase of silent confirmed L/C without recourse to the Chinese market when working in Credit Suisse Shanghai Branch in 1996.

After that, William joined COMMERZBANK AG, Shanghai Branch, where he developed derivative products that became popular in the market, such as forfaiting against transferrable L/C to off-shore company. William experienced several job positions at the bank, including Head of Marketing, Senior Sales Specialist and Senior Relationship Manager, and had worked as Head of International Department until he retired to establish his own business – Orient Trade Finance Consultants Ltd.
